India COVID-19 Relief

Donating oxygen concentrators to hospitals in India -

June-August 2021

In February 2021, India saw a sudden rise in coronavirus deaths (many refer to this as the "second wave"), with patients struggling to access health care and proper treatment. Hospitals in India suffered from shortage of beds and supplies to care for COVID patients, all while trying to vaccinate underprivileged and low-income people.

Emkidz was able to raise over $7000 to donate oxygen concentrators and other supplies to pediatric units in government hospitals and primary health centers in remote and rural towns. Each concentrator is estimated to save 2-3 lives per week.

Additionally, with your donations we have assisted in providing free education and boarding facilities to children who lost their parents due to the pandemic via JSS Institution based in Mysore.

Also, thank you to Vineet Sharma for organizing a bake sale fundraiser at his school, Berkeley Preparatory School! With the generous donations from Berkeley Prep students and faculty, the fundraiser was able to raise over $800.

Donating hurricane relief packs and a drinking water fountain to the Hogar Escuela Sor Maria Rafaela in Puerto Rico!

Hogar Escuela Sor Maria Rafaela - August 2019

In August, we visited the girls of el Hogar Escuela Sor Maria Rafaela in Puerto Rico! Thanks to your generous donations from Musical Sensations 2019, we were able to hand out hurricane relief packs (the backpacks shown) that contain basic hygiene and educational materials, empowering the children of the orphanage. After hurricanes Maria and Irma, access to drinking water became scarce. With your help, we installed a water fountain for the girls! Our team also performed and taught Bhartanatyam to the girls!

Thank you to everyone who supported Musical Sensations 2019! Because of your generous donations, we were able to create and donate "Boxes of Hope" (teen hygiene kits including some fun items as well such as nail polish, make-up, etc.) for local teen girls in the foster care system (through Eckerd Connects Raising Hope)! Thank you to everyone who supported! Because of a generous donation from Berkeley Preparatory School, 100% of your donations went directly to helping children around the world. We created "Boxes of Hope" for local teen girls in the foster care system (through Eckerd Connects Raising Hope) and we will also be helping children in the Hogar Escuela Sor María Rafaela in Puerto Rico!

Donations to the Atma Vidya Ashram

Atma Vidya Ashram - Bengaluru, India - February 2018

During our travels to India, we were actually able to meet the amazingly disciplined and incredibly respectful children of the Atma Vidya Ashram, an orphanage in Bengaluru, India. Coming in contact with such a humbling experience, we were proud to say that the proceeds of Emkidz' first Musical Sensations fundraiser would go toward this great cause.

Thanks to your incredible donations from Musical Sensations 2017, we were able to build a functioning computer lab for the children, giving them the tools to better their education and fuel them for success! Thanks for helping us empower these children, from kidz, for kids!

Bharatnatyam Arangetram:

Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, FL - January 1, 2017

The Bharatanatyam Aragetram is a once-in-a-life-time event for Bharatanatyam dancers such as ourselves. We believed this would be the best time to begin our efforts in empowering children around the world. And with that goal in mind, Emkidz, Inc. was born.

Living in Florida, we had first-hand experience with the damage Hurricane Irma had caused in 2017. With a portion of the funds raised during our Arangetram, we donated books and other essential supplies to the children and schools who got affected by Hurricane Irma through www.firstbook.org.

As many families during the COVID-19 pandemic are struggling to get by, Emkidz decided to help out the St. Petersburg Free Clinic. We donated several boxes of non-perishable food and hygiene items to help low-income families in need.

St. Pete Sallie House:

During the holidays of 2019, we had the opportunity to return to the St. Pete Sallie House for foster children at their annual Christmas party. We helped with arts and crafts, played games, and handed out presents with Santa to spread joy to the children during these tough times.
